- The many local Social Science clubs linked the phrase "social science" with anarchism, broadening the definition for a more inclusive agenda. By 1906 the masthead of Mother Earth read "Monthly Magazine Devoted to Social Science and Literature," and the masthead of Revolt (1915-1916), a Chicago Sweedish-anarchist paper edited by Theodore Johnson, read "A Monthly Swedish Journal Devoted to Social Science and Revolutionary Thought."
